When you purchase HealTerra products, you create real impact.
Recycling
By choosing HealTerra, you’re part of the first recycling initiative of its kind in rural Douglas County, Southern Oregon—where recycling options are limited. Together, we’re diverting food waste from landfills. Why does that matter? Because food waste is one of the most harmful landfill streams, producing greenhouse gases and leachate that pollute our air and water.
Soil Restoration
Your purchase also supports the fight against global soil degradation. In the last 40 years, nearly 30% of the world’s cropland has been abandoned due to declining soil health, fueled in part by chemical-heavy farming. As the world’s population grows, restoring soil is more urgent than ever. HealTerra products return vital organic matter to the earth—helping rebuild healthy, productive soils.
Community
Every bag of HealTerra helps build a stronger, more resilient community right here at home. In an economically disadvantaged region, your support contributes to a circular economy—turning local food waste into a resource that sustains our soil, our farmers, and our people. Together, we’re creating a self-sustaining model that keeps resources local, reduces waste, and grows opportunity.
Empowering Veterans
HealTerra was created as a social enterprise with a deeper purpose: funding outdoor activities and trail work that bring veterans and community members together. These experiences foster connection, restore purpose, and promote environmental stewardship. Veterans make up nearly13% of Douglas County’s population, and supporting them is central to our mission. We believe in the healing power of nature as a non-clinical path to stronger mental health and community resilience.
